I’m glad it wasn’t worse. I’ve loved reading your words and getting to know my Aunt. Your perspective is so interesting and you write beautifully. You’ve experienced so much in your life. I’m praying for your swift recovery.

You can imagine I had empathy during that read. The bill? Anti fungals in Canada -$500 for a round, India - $50.

One of the biggest reasons for bankruptcy in the US is medical bills.

That sounds very jarring. It is a mercy there were compassionate persons about; as you depicted the man who spoke English. What a Godsend! You described increased communal infrastructure in your absence. You look much improved; & I am quite interested in the standards/delivery of health care. May Jehan be very blessed on her birthday, & in general. It's heartening to know she & Ishani were the help God intended our family/progeny to be! You write in a compelling way. Thank you for faithfully keeping us abreast of your lives. Did Jehan avoid the migraine? She is a committed walker, despite the heat. I remember she wanted to be a midwife once. I love you, Patty!

Dear Patty,

I look forward each day to your writings from India, especially your pilgrimage around the holy mountain, doing your prayers in your own way…..

Your accident was a shock to read about! I’m so glad that there were people there to help you, especially Jehan , but really all those who lent you a hand !

It was good to see your face, knowing that your bruises and stitches will fade and that you are truly “in India « now.

Best wishes, Laile
